San Diego Wild Animal
Park
January 27, 2007
We had a wonderful day at the San Diego Wild Animal Park, just father and
son.
We had a blast roaming the park, looking at all the animals, taking
pictures of each other,
and eating lots of junk food. I'll remember this special day for a
long time!
Here's my boy mapping out our day.

It was fun handing the camera off to each other throughout the day.
One of the best parts of the day was viewing the lions up close...but
behind glass.
This mama cat was not shy about coming right up to the glass.
I doubt this California Condor will win many beauty contests. btw, you can't see it here,
but there was a net between my camera and the
bird. Thankfully, shooting at f/2 rendered the net
completely
invisible.

We had lots of fun at the elephant show.
This is one of my FAVORITE pictures of all time! I'm gonna treasure it forever!
We had such a
wonderful time at the San Diego Wild Animal Park.
btw, this shot was taken
on timer with my Bogen
tabletop legs and Giottos mini ballhead.
I placed my backpack on a nearby bench and set the tripod on
top of the backpack to get this angle. I highly recommend packing a
tabletop tripod, especially if you're
heading out to an amusement park. I've gotten so much use out of
mine throughout the years!
